Chevrolet Camaro's 1000 horsepower farewell ride is the Hennessey Exorcist.

The Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition, the American tuner's scorching ode to the Chevrolet Camaro and its fastest-accelerating vehicle to date, has been unveiled.

The combustion-engined Camaro, which debuted in 2016 in its current sixth-generation version, will be decommissioned in 2024.

According to US reports, the model line's successor would be an electric mid-sized saloon, which would be a major change from the two-door sports coupé configuration that was first introduced in 1966. 

The Exorcist's manufacturing run is limited to 57 vehicles as a nod to the Camaro's lifetime and is powered by a completely rebuilt 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that produces 1000 horsepower and 922 lb-ft of torque. 

This results in a 0-62 mph speed of 2.1 seconds, which is faster than any vehicle Hennessey has previously manufactured, including the company's own 250 mph Venom hypercar, and is on par with the similarly designed Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.

It has a 217 mph top speed and completes the quarter mile in 9.57 seconds, topping the Porsche 911 Turbo S and matching the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The Exorcist delivers a number of technological improvements over the base 650bhp Camaro ZL1 in its fight for muscle car dominance. Larger supercharger, high-pressure fuel system, high-flow induction system, and custom camshafts, intake valves, and exhaust valves are added to the engine. Pushrod upgrades have also been made to the suspension.

The car's construction number is inscribed on a plaque that is placed on the engine. Production got under way today.

A bumper-width rear spoiler, new gloss black alloy wheels, wider quad exhausts, white side stripes with images from "The Exorcist," and "Final Edition" badging on the front wheel arches are all cosmetic alterations.

It is the successor to the first Camaro Exorcist, which debuted in 2017 and was intended to "slay the Dodge Demon."
